The agreement

These terms apply when you use Mereka Cards — the iPhone app, cards.mereka.io and the console at admin.cards.mereka.io — provided by Mereka (“we”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you may accept them on its behalf. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

Your account

Give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13, and old enough in your country to agree to these terms. Tell us at hello@mereka.io if you think your account has been misused.

Your cards and content

What you put on a card stays yours. You give us permission to store, display and share it as the service works — for example showing a published card to anyone with its link or NFC card, and letting them save it. You confirm you have the right to publish it, and that it is not unlawful, misleading, or someone else’s identity or brand without permission.

Contacts people share with you

When someone shares their details from your card, they do so so that you can contact them. Use them only for that, respect a withdrawal, and do not add them to marketing lists or pass them on without their agreement. You are responsible for your own use of contacts you export.

Organisations

An organisation can issue cards to its people, set design rules and approvals, and assign, reassign or withdraw its cards. If you hold a card an organisation issued, it is the organisation’s card and it may change or take it down, for example when you leave. Personal cards in your own space remain under your control.

Acceptable use

  • No unlawful, harmful, harassing or deceptive content or use.
  • No spam, scraping, or collecting other people’s details without their consent.
  • No attempts to break, overload, probe or get around the security of the service, or to access data that is not yours.
  • No reselling the service without our written agreement.

Plans and payment

Mereka Cards has a free plan and paid plans for organisations, priced per seat and billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe. A pending invitation counts as a seat. If a payment fails we keep your organisation running normally for 21 days while it is resolved; after that it moves to the free plan’s limits and nothing is deleted. You can change or cancel a plan at any time from the console. Refund requests are handled by a person — email hello@mereka.io. Taxes may apply.

NFC cards

An NFC card works by holding a link; any phone that taps it opens that link. Keep physical cards safe — you can revoke a lost card from the app, after which it stops opening your card.

Ending

You can stop using Mereka Cards and delete your account at any time from Settings in the app or Account in the console. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it, and will tell you why unless we are not allowed to.

The service

We work to keep Mereka Cards available, secure and improving, and may change features over time; we will give reasonable notice before removing something you rely on. The service is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms we will update the date above and tell you before a material change takes effect. Questions: hello@mereka.io.
